Boeing/NASA Starliner Program Will Use SafeGuard for 2023 Mission

November 29, 2022

Back in November, VigiLife CEO Zachary Kiehl announced that VigiLife would be a subcontractor for the Boeing/NASA Starliner program. The Starliner’s first manned mission is currently scheduled for April 2023. Boeing and NASA are looking to VigiLife’s SafeGuard platform to provide real-time health and safety monitoring of the landing and recovery team.

Kiehl and Jeremy Ward (VigiLife’s VP of Products & Partnerships) both spent a week working directly with the team at Boeing at the White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico, testing and deploying SafeGuard in preparation for the upcoming mission.

As early adopters of SafeGuard, Boeing’s initial purchase of equipment and services from VigiLife includes:

  • 10 SafeGuard licenses
  • 10 VigiLife physiological sensors
  • 10 wearable chemical/gas detectors
  • 2 Dell Latitude 7220 Rugged Extreme tablets
  • 1 iPad WiFi Mini with charger
  • 1 one-time onboarding, activation, and support fee
  • 100 hours of training, engineering, and technical support

“We look forward to supporting Boeing and the great men and women who so bravely dare to go beyond,” says Kiehl. “Kudos to Boeing and NASA for their safety excellence. We are delighted to support them on a mission that is literally out of this world!”
